WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair credits former NXT Tag Team Champion Simon Gotch for naming her signature move, the Figure-Eight Leglock.
Since joining WWE, Flair has honored her father, the legendary Ric Flair, by using his signature move, the Figure-Four Leglock. However, she modified the Figure-Four into the Figure-Eight by flipping her body backward, increasing the pressure on her opponent’s leg.
Over the years, Flair has captured several championships with the Figure-Eight Leglock. In recent years, she also adopted Natural Selection as another signature move. This weekend, Flair appeared on WWE World and shared that Simon Gotch, a former WWE star, named the move. She clarified that Gotch didn’t create the move, but only gave it a name.
Charlotte Flair reveals how much time she has left in her WWE career
At WWE World, when asked how much time she thinks she has left in her pro wrestling career, Charlotte Flair offered a very surprising response. “I’m also probably halfway through my career,” Charlotte Flair revealed. “But instead of trying to control everything, I couldn’t control the knee injury, but with the time that I do have left, I want to make every opportunity on TV matter. So like, missing last year was hard for Mania.”
“So I’m going into this Mania, going like the things that I worry about, I shouldn’t worry about. Just go out there and give your best match, however many WrestleManias I have left. Because I never thought I would be injured with a knee injury. I felt kind of like untouchable, not as a character, but I felt like physically untouchable for so long.”
Flair, who challenged Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Title, suffered a loss to the rising star at the grandest stage of them all. It will be interesting to see what’s next for the multiple-time WWE Women’s Champion.
