Steve Austin recounts a previous match he had with Triple H.
At WrestleMania 41, WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin accidently crashed into the barricade while driving an ATV around the ring. This impact resulted in a fan being knocked back, whom Austin and WWE President Nick Khan both checked on in the aftermath. Earlier in the weekend, Austin appeared on a panel at WWE World (footage via Steve Fall of Ten Count), recalling another memorable, though much older, encounter involving the ringside barricade.
“Man, I tell you what. When I was a heel, I talked so much trash,” Austin said when asked about a time he made an audience member upset. “Oh, the rib. When I was a heel and I was working Triple H over there in the New Hampshire area or whatever. This is kind of on a different note, but Paul’s parents would always sit on the front row.
“I’d always take Paul ‘Triple H’ [Levesque] over there, and I’d beat his ass up right in front of them. I’d pick him up and drop his throat on the guardrail, and I’d put my foot on his chest. The whole time I was talking trash to his mother and father, and that was a lot of fun. It kind of pissed them off a little bit, but they knew what was up.”

On April 18, Austin, Triple H, and his parents gathered in the same area once more as WWE inducted the former’s WrestleMania 13 match against Bret Hart into the WWE Hall of Fame as an “Immortal Moment.” Triple H received a solo induction as the headliner for the 2025 Hall of Fame class as well. According to Triple H, this date also coincided with his parents’ 61st anniversary.
