WWE and AEW are reportedly interested in Thekla after her STARDOM departure.
The Austrian wrestler joined STARDOM in early 2022 and spent three years with the promotion.
Thekla is best known for her work as a heel as a member of Giulia’s Donna Del Mondo stable. The “Idol Killer” officially left after her final match at Stardom All-Star Grand Queendom 2025, which took place on April 27 at Yokohama Arena in Kanagawa, Japan. In that match, Thekla lost to Sayaka Kurara in a singles bout.
Her departure was worked into a storyline, as STARDOM President Taro Okada fired her to end her time with the company. Reports now indicate that after performing at a high level in Japan, Thekla is headed to the United States.
According to Fightful Select, Thekla’s contract with STARDOM has officially ended. And that she’s planning a move to the United States. A plan that’s been in the works for some time.
When Fightful asked WWE about her and other wrestlers who became stars in Japan around the same time as Giulia. Sources said WWE had “had their eye on” Thekla. AEW also showed strong interest in her by late 2024. In addition, a number of independent companies reached out to Fightful, inquiring if she was taking upcoming bookings.. However, several in AEW believe she’s likely headed their way.
Thekla teased her next move by posting the following on Twitter/X:
