AEW Dynamite Results:

This week’s episode of Dynamite kicks off with Tony Schiavone in the ring. He brings out the new AEW World Champion, Hangman Page. The crowd chants that Hangman deserves it.

Hangman Page says he thinks the crowd might have missed the point, because the truth is that they deserve it. Page puts over the fans who have supported AEW and says the fans are the ones who started the revolution to change the world. Page says they don’t do it just for the championship, they do it for the fans.

The crowd chants, “Thank you, Hangman.” Page says we deserve to see this championship, and we deserve someone who will hold it and have more gratitude for the fans than we will ever know. Page says he didn’t just walk into a battle at All In, he walked into a war. Hangman says there are a lot of people he needs to thank who didn’t make it to the end of the war.

Page thanks Orange Cassidy, Jay White, Adam Copeland, The Opps, Bryan Danielson, and Darby Allin. Page also needs to thank someone who helped remind him why he loves professional wrestling and paid the price for this moment, and he thanks Will Ospreay.

Crying doesn’t make you less of a man

Hangman says if he’s going to be the man and champion he wants to be, he needs to say this. Page says he doesn’t know if he helped for himself, for AEW, or him, but to Swerve Strickland, thank you.

Page says he shed buckets of blood and tears this weekend. Hangman says Jon Moxley says that shedding tears makes you less of a man. Page says he has a loving family and fans who look to him and respect him. Hangman says, if you want to know what type of man he is, he’s the champion of the f*cking world.

A video package recaps the biggest moments of AEW All In: Texas.

The Young Bucks arrive in an Uber after losing their EVP titles at All In.

Kyle Fletcher (w/ Don Callis and Lance Archer) vs. Mascara Dorada

  • The finish of the match saw Kyle Fletcher hit Mascara Dorada with a sheerdrop brainbuster to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Kyle Fletcher

Grade: B+

Good match to kick off the show. It was essentially just a competitive showcase match for Fletcher. There’s nothing wrong with that.

The Young Bucks are going through it…

We see more footage of the Young Bucks entering the venue today. Getting grief from Renee Paquette, Marina Shafir, and Ricochet’s new faction. They are approached by Don Callis, who wants to work with them. The Bucks say they will never join his family, but see a partnership being beneficial to them right now. The three of them hug and Matt and Nick don’t look overly thrilled about it.

You can check out that segment by clicking here since the post won’t embed.

We get a quick backstage segment from The Hurt Syndicate. MVP dares legendary tag teams to step up and take the titles away from Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. MJF talks about his contract and teases that it will once again be a cash-in style ordeal. Because it worked SO well with Christian Cage last year. But I digress…

Josh Alexander, Hechicero, and the Young Bucks (w/ Don Callis) vs. Brody King, Bandido, and JetSpeed

  • The finish of the match saw Hechicero and the Young Bucks hit Bandido with a triple team move before Hechicero locked Bandido in a choke and put him to sleep.

Winners: Josh Alexander, Hechicero, and the Young Bucks

Grade: A-

Yeah, this match ruled. The Young Bucks’ stuff with the entrance and the way they handled the match was fantastic. This was great stuff, I really enjoyed it.

The Rated R Superstar is back

Adam Copeland makes his way to the ring to talk to the AEW fans. The crowd sings his theme song, and Copeland thanks them for it. Cope says he didn’t return at All In to try and save Cage, and called him an asshole. He runs down all the issues he’s had with Christian since he’s arrived in All Elite Wrestling.

Copeland says he told Cage what happened at All In was going to happen to him, but he didn’t listen. Cope says he hopes somewhere Cage is pulling his giant head out of his ass, but he won’t hold his breath. Copeland says he returned at All In to get revenge on FTR.

Cope talks about coming back out of retirement and his history with FTR. Copeland is angry about FTR putting him on the shelf for four months. Copeland says he’s back to end FTR. The music of FTR hits, but it’s just Stokely Hathaway surrounded by security.

Hathaway says FTR read Cope like a book. The crowd tells Stokely to shut the f*ck up. Hathaway says Spike is a liability, and after the pay-per-view, Tony Khan and Warner Media got three anonymous emails about his behavior. Hathaway says if Copeland tries to attack FTR, he’s fired.

Stokely says FTR needs to focus on reclaiming the AEW Tag Team Titles. Stokely tells Cope to find a hobby and leave FTR alone. Copeland calls him an angry Oompa Loompa and clarifies that he can’t touch FTR, but he didn’t say anything about him. Hathaway’s security runs away, and Stokely eats a spear.

Mark Briscoe isn’t done with MJF

We hear from Mark Briscoe, who cuts a passionate promo on MJF. Briscoe says their rivalry is just beginning and promises to make MJF pay for what he said about his brother Jay and what he did to him at AEW All In: Texas.

$100K 4-Way Fight: Kris Statlander vs. Willow Nightingale vs. Thekla vs. Queen Aminata

  • The finish of the match saw Julia Hart interfere and mist Queen Aminata. Thekla hits Aminata with a curb stomp and pins her with her shoulder up the entire count to score the victory.

Winner: Thekla

Grade: B+

I mean, the match itself was good. But that finish? Woof. I freaking hate when pinfalls aren’t executed properly, and that was a terrible pinfall. It’s just as much on the referee as it is on Thekla. That pin should never have been counted.

Timeless Toni Storm is here

Toni Storm comes out on the balcony for her promo. Storm thanks Mercedes for going All In with her. Storm says they set out to do everything they intended to do. Toni says if Mercedes made one wrong move, she would eat her alive and says that Mercedes was delicious.

Storm says if Mercedes wants another shot, the buffet is always open. Storm announces that Luther was injured in the line of duty, and it requires reattachment surgery. Toni says her tits are pointing to the future.

Athena and Billie Starkz interrupt Storm on the Tron. Athena says that soon she will be the forever AEW Women’s World Champion. She teases where she might use the contract and says that Toni’s demise is here.

Storm responds to Athena like only she can and says she is Timeless.

We hear from The Patriarchy, who explain why they turned on Christian Cage. I was unable to catch most of this promo, unfortunately, but you can check it out for yourself in the embedded post below.

Kazuchika Okada (w/ Don Callis) vs. Rafael Quintero

  • The finish saw Kazuchika Okada hit the Rainmaker to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Kazuchika Okada

After the match, Okada gets on the microphone and says Swerve Strickland screwed his friends, the Young Bucks, and called him a bitch. This brings out Swerve and Prince Nana. Swerve says he did do that and wants to know what Okada is going to do about it, calling him a bitch. Callis and Okada back down and leave.

Grade: N/A

Quick squash match, nothing to grade.

Hangman Page, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Mark Briscoe vs. The Death Riders (w/ Marina Shafir)

  • The finish of the match saw Hangman Page catch Claudio Castagnoli with a Jackknife pin to score the victory for his team.

Winners: Hangman Page, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Mark Briscoe

Grade: A-

After the match, the Death Riders attacked Hangman Page. Darby Allin appears in the rafters of the building distracting Moxley who eats a Buckshot Lariat from Hangman as AEW Dynamite goes off the air.

AEW Dynamite Review:

This felt like the beginning of a new chapter for AEW tonight. While there wasn’t a ton of big ones coming out of this show. The direction the company is heading in the coming months was abundantly clear. I really enjoyed tonight’s show. And while I mentioned tonight felt like a new chapter, another part of me almost saw it as a nice epilogue to what we witnessed over the weekend at All In: Texas.

Grade: A-
