WWE SmackDown Results:

The show kicks off with a tribute to Hulk Hogan.

ImPaulsive

Logan Paul is in the ring ranting as usual. Paul wants us to see an episode of his “podcast” Impaulsive TV. Paul’s guest tonight is Jelly Roll. Jelly Roll interrupts. Jelly Roll and Paul go back and forth. Paul tells Jelly Roll that he is getting into the ring with the best this business has to offer. Jelly Roll has no chance against Paul and Drew McIntyre. Jelly Roll goes on and on about getting in the ring to take care of bullies like Paul and to show the poor kids they can make it or something like that. McIntyre joins Paul in the ring. Jelly Roll says he didn’t come alone. Randy Orton stomps to the ring. Orton acts like he was about to speak, but decks McIntyre instead. A brawl breaks out. Orton gets dumped out of the ring. McIntyre lets Paul get his licks in on Jelly Roll. Orton pulls McIntyre out of the ring.

Grade: C

It took way too long to get the inevitable brawl. The brawl was great, but what led to it was long and uninteresting. Unlike most, this writer thinks the tag match at SummerSlam will be entertaining, but these promos are killing the show.

Alexa Bliss w/Charlotte Flair vs. Roxanne Perez w/Raquel Rodriguez

Perez and Bliss trade pin attempts. Perez slaps Bliss. Bliss slaps Perez. Rodriguez tries to get involved. Flair steps in. After the break, Perez distracts the referee while Rodriguez stuns Bliss on the bottom rope. Double jump moonsault by Perez. Flair tosses Rodriguez over the barricade. Rodriguez attacks Flair. Instead of landing Twisted Bliss on Perez, Bliss dives out of the ring onto Rodriguez. Bliss’ nose is bleeding badly. Bliss slides back into the ring, Perez rolls Bliss up and grabs the rope for the cheap win.

Winner- Roxanne Perez

Grade: B

Fun match, that could have gone another segment. Perez getting the win was needed, though she is probably eating the pin at SummerSlam. That may have been a broken nose for Bliss, but hopefully it’s not too bad.

Chelsea Green vs. Jade Cargill

Cargill boots Green in the face. The Secret Hervice arrives to check on Green. After the break, Green takes control after a distraction from Alba Fyre. Green sets up her finish. Cargill counters with Jaded for the win.

Winner- Jade Cargill

After the match, the Secret Hervice attacks Cargill. WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton makes the save. After Stratton and Cargill clear the ring, they have a brief tug-of-war over the championship.

Cody, Cody Rhodes!

Rhodes puts over Hogan. Rhodes says he plans on redefining violence against John Cena at SummerSlam in their Street Fight.

Grade: C

Same old stuff from Rhodes. It’s a shame that Rhodes keeps being put in the position of selling a feud against someone who isn’t there. This is getting old.

The Miz vs. Jacob Fatu

Fatu dominates early. The United States Champion, Solo Sikoa, and the MFTs make their way to the ring. In the confusion, Miz attacks Fatu from behind, taking control. After the break, Fatu surprises Miz with a clothesline. Fatu fires up and crushes Miz with a hip attack in the corner. The MFTs pulls Miz out of the ring. Fatu dives out of the ring onto the MFTs. Fatu hits a pop-up Samoan drop for the win.

Winner- Jacob Fatu

After the match, Sikoa and the MFTs attack Fatu. Jimmy Uso hits the ring with a chair. Jimmy takes everyone out until Tala Tonga shrugs off a chair shot and obliterates Jimmy with a running boot. Fatu clears the ring and wraps a chair around Sikoa’s neck. Before Fatu can land a devastating chair-braced hip attack, Tala surprises Fatu with a lariat. Chokeslam by Tala. Sikoa gives Fatu the weakest-looking Samoan Spike in WWE history.

Grade: B-

This was a fun, quick one with tons of interference, but any match involving Fatu at this point is going to have that. This time, Fatu still managed to look like a world-beater even in getting laid out. It took a Herculean effort by Sikoa and the MFTs to subdue Fatu. Also, what was that Samoan Spike by Sikoa? It looked like he was giving Fatu a noogie.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: The Wyatt Sicks (c) vs. Andrade & Rey Fenix

Andrade and Fenix double-team Gacy and Lumis right out of the gate, ending their assault with stereo kicks. Three Amigos by Andrade. Lumis pushes Fenix off the top while he is setting up a dive. Gacy almost decapitates Andrade with the Upside Down. After the break, Andrade hit Gacy with The Message. Nikki Cross pulls the referee out of the ring. Ref Bae calls for the bell. The Wyatts have been disqualified.

Winners- Andrade & Rey Fenix

After the match, Rowan appears and beats everyone down. The entire tag division hits the ring. The Street Profits clean house! #DIY runs down to the ring with SmackDown GM Nick Aldis. Fraxiom takes out #DIY with dives. Aldis grabs a mic and says he’s tired of this, and since they are all trying to destroy each other, he’s going to let them. At SummerSlam, the titles will be hung high above the ring in a tables, ladders, and chairs match! Everyone starts fighting again.

Grade: B

This match moved at a lightning-fast pace in the best way. Both teams got their stuff in a short amount of time, due to the need for a lot of time for the brawl that led to the TLC announcement. This match had to end in a DQ, but it was so much fun getting there.

WWE SmackDown Results

This week’s episode of SmackDown was a mixed bag, but did a fair amount of heavy lifting to build to the next big PLE, SummerSlam. The match of the night was the chaotic main event, which led to the blockbuster TLC returning at SummerSlam announcement. What did you all think of the show? Let us know in the comments!
