Drew McIntyre‘s WWE SummerSlam appearance may be in jeopardy after being denied entry into the United States.
The Scottish Warrior dropped a video via social media , claiming to have been stuck in the United Kingdom over the weekend.
“It’s quite the week I’ve had,” McIntyre said. “You want to know how it’s been capped off? I can’t get back in America. They wouldn’t let me board my flight. Look at the scenic countryside (moves the camera). Does that look like an American scenic countryside? No, I’m in England. Still at my buddy’s wedding. What a wedding! I was planning to go back, train for SummerSlam. But no, no, no, no, no. I got blocked.”
“My wife and I walked up to the gate, trying to check in. Always goes perfectly fine. Not this time, though. ‘You don’t have your U.S. passport.’ ‘I know who you are, I know you’ve lived there for a long time. I know you’re showing me pictures of your U.S. passport and your Global Entry and your… it doesn’t matter. I know exactly who you are, your property and the likes…’
“So my wife and I panic. We say, ‘We’ve got a sick animal at home. We’re good people. We care about our animals. We care about people.’ And they… (I told my wife) ‘Go ahead, babe. Don’t think about me. Leave me behind. Leave me to die behind. It’s okay.’ She has to go against their will, goes back home, looks after the cat, and here I am.”
Drew McIntyre blames Jelly Roll for passport fiasco
Drew McIntyre directed his rant towards one-half of his WWE SummerSlam opponents, Jelly Roll, calling out the singer for allegedly pulling some connections to stop the Scottish Warrior from re-entering the States.
“So what happened? What changed this trip? Jelly Roll. You know, somebody got some connections. You’ve got your 15 minutes of fame right now. You can get away with some stuff. Your heart… soon you will not be. So you’re getting in while you can. Yeah, you realize when I took off my shirt on SmackDown, you went, ‘Oh, my God! All that aura, I’m screwed.’ So you can screw up my training for SummerSlam week.
“Why am I in a field? I don’t know why I’m in a field, but I can tell you one thing: When this is all over, I’m going to get back. I’m going to drop you, Jelly Roll. I’m going to make you pay, and eventually you’re going to gain all that weight back and you’re going to look like one of these f***ers.”
For those wondering if it’s a work or shoot, PWInsider confirmed Drew McIntyre’s passport concern as being “a legitimate issue the company is currently dealing with.”
McIntyre is scheduled to team with Logan Paul against Randy Orton and Jelly Roll in tag team action at SummerSlam. Let’s hope the former World Heavyweight Champion gets his passport issue sorted in time for the “Biggest Party of the Summer.”
