WWE Reveals Who Is Responsible For Brock Lesnar’s Return To TV

WWE shares who ultimately brought Brock Lesnar “home.”

Lesnar made a shocking appearance at the end of SummerSlam on Sunday night. “The Beast Incarnate” made his first appearance in two years and attacked John Cena after he lost the WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes.

Many people did not expect Brock Lesnar to return to WWE TV. This is largely due to him being named in Janel Grant’s ongoing lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE. After SummerSlam, Paul “Triple H” Levesque hinted that John Cena had Brock Lesnar on his retirement tour wish list. However, Michael Cole addressed the situation and credited Levesque and Nick Khan for making the first move.

WWE reached out to Brock Lesnar about a return

“Earlier today, I had the opportunity to sit down with WWE President Nick Khan and WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque,” Michael Cole said on WWE RAW. “And I asked them a simple question: when was it determined that Brock Lesnar would return to WWE? And they told me they reached out to Brock a number of weeks ago and said, ‘We believe it’s time for you to come home.’ Brock Lesnar said ‘Let’s do it.’ And here we are.”

Cole’s remarks would seem to confirm F4WOnline.com‘s report, where Dave Meltzer said Lesnar was cleared to return about four weeks ago.

Cole said John Cena might feel differently about Lesnar’s return. He will have a chance to react to Lesnar’s attack during this week’s episode of SmackDown.

The legal team for Janel Grant, the woman suing WWE and Vince McMahon for sexual assault and trafficking, also felt differently about Lesnar’s appearance. A spokesperson released a statement in response to his return to television.
