Though most of his WWE career has been spent inside a ring, R-Truth is open to taking on another role in the company if called upon.
During a recent interview with BCP+, Truth specifically addressed the idea of becoming a General Manager in WWE someday. “That would be wild, boy the decisions I would make. Oh the decisions I would make. Bruh, this is the wrestling business, never say never,” Truth said (H/T to Fightful for the transcription).
Currently, the General Manager positions in WWE are held by Nick Aldis, Adam Pearce, Ava, and Stevie Turner. While Aldis takes care of operations on SmackDown, Pearce acts as the head of the Raw brand. Elsewhere on WWE’s developmental brands, Ava leads NXT, while Stevie Turner directs traffic on Evolve.
Truth, now 53 years old, initially announced that he’d be exiting WWE as the company opted not to renew his contract. After a demand from the fans and amongst internal WWE figures, however, Truth returned to programming at WWE Money in the Bank to attack then-Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena. Since then, he has resided on the SmackDown brand headed by Aldis, with his most recent televised match resulting in a victory over Aleister Black on July 11.
In a WWE ring, Truth (real name Ron Killings) is a former 24/7 Champion, United States Champion, and WWE Tag Team Champion. The second reign of the latter spanned 79 days, occurring last year alongside The Miz.
