Bret Hart Gets Candid About Celebrities In Pro Wrestling

What does Bret Hart think of celebrities stepping inside the squared circle to compete in professional wrestling matches?

WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart was a recent guest on the Rap on Wrestling Podcast. When asked for his thoughts on celebrities competing in wrestling matches, Hart was surprisingly in support of the idea.

“I actually like it,” Bret Hart admitted. “I like- I’m more, it’s hard for me to sing the praises of a lot of people today, but like I remember when LT, like Lawrence Taylor, when he wrestled Bam Bam at one of the WrestleManias a long time ago. But I always thought he did such a great job for a guy that wasn’t a wrestler.

Bret Hart believes Lawrence Taylor and William Perry could have become wrestlers

“I thought he did a fantastic job and that if he wanted to hang up his football cleats and become a pro wrestler, he could have done it. He was a natural for it. For a guy that never did it before, went out in the ring, wrestled Bam Bam Bigelow, who was a really good wrestler. I was really impressed with that. So I would say if you got the guts and you think you can do it and you can do it well, like Jelly Roll, you know, I think go for it. Live your dreams.

“I also thought that The Refrigerator (William Perry) back in the big WrestleMania, the Battle Royal they had, was it WrestleMania 3? That was, he did a fantastic job too, and he was another natural. I think if I’d been Vince McMahon, I think I would have pulled him aside and said, hey, you know, to become a wrestler. You know, he could have been.” [H/T: Fightful]
