AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door’s world title match just got some major changes.
During Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite, the show closed with a huge moment. “Hangman” Adam Page took to the ring and demanded to fight MJF early. MJF then appeared on the jumbotron, on a feed from backstage, and with Ricochet and the Gates of Agony joining him, alongside a tied-up Mark Briscoe.
MJF said he had demands for Page, or he’d set Briscoe on fire. First, he wants the AEW World Championship to be able to change hands via DQ or countout in their match. Second, he asked to have his Casino Gauntlet contract given back to him, and not counted for the match. Page wasn’t going to give in, but MJF came dangerously close to putting a lighter on Briscoe, and he finally acquiesced.
Now, the pair’s match at Forbidden Door just got even bigger. And, MJF has locked in the chance to essentially try again if he fails.

AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door will take place on August 24, 2025, at The O2 Arena in London, England. So far, the fully updated card for the event is as follows:
