Jim Cornette Says Bully Ray Is Telling The Truth About AEW

Jim Cornette is siding with Bully Ray when it comes to his opinion about the state of AEW.

Last week, Bully Ray shared his assessment of All Elite Wrestling. He praised the talent in the company, calling them a bright spot in AEW. However, he feels like it’s “lost” overall. The Busted Open host said Tony Khan might be a good person, but he’s not a real booker.

“Unfortunate, but… AEW, as a product, is lost,” Bully Ray wrote on Twitter/X. “There’s certainly some bright spots (talent) – but as a company, lacks definitive direction. Is what it is. A company owned and operated by a fan with lots of $$ TK – Good guy, good heart, not a booker And “the boys” know it.”

Bully Ray‘s remarks were not well-received by all. This includes AEW’s Ricochet, who said that he completely disagreed and thought it was an ignorant statement. On the contrary, Bully Ray has at least one ally in Jim Cornette, who said that people are losing their minds over Bully Ray telling the truth. “The Lousiville Lip” also said that talent would be saying the same thing if they weren’t getting paid to stay quiet about it.

“So this is just about the most polite I’ve ever heard Bubba Ray Dudley be, telling a simple truth and not insulting anyone,” Jim Cornette wrote on Twitter/X. “And the play-rasslin fans’ heads are exploding over it. The AEW talent would be saying the same thing but they get paid not to, it’s not that difficult.”

In addition to AEW talent speaking out against Bully Ray, fans also met his statement with a mixed response. Some disagreed with him, pointing out that AEW drew close to 20,000 fans for Forbidden Door: London and nearly 30,000 for All In: Texas. However, others agreed with him, stating that Dynamite featured a lack of exciting stories.
