It is safe to say that one of the greatest female UFC fighters of all time is ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey. She also had a fairly good run in WWE. She is a former WWE Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion. Ever since hanging up her wrestling boots, she has been reflecting on her run in the Stamford-based promotion, but she doesn’t seem to have anything positive to say. Recently, Rousey revealed that was not pleased about having to feud with Alexa Bliss.
Upon hearing her comments a WWE Hall of Famer shared his thoughts on the former Raw Women’s Champion. The wrestling veteran was none other than Booker T. While speaking on a recent episode of the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T mentioned that the wrestling world opened many doors for the self-proclaimed Baddest Woman on the Planet. But now, Rousey is just spitting on the face of the business.
“Ronda Rousey is another one man. I think the wrestling world opened the doors to her, and she just spat in the face of professional wrestling. Feels like it a little bit. That’s what she’s done. You know, it’s a reason why people don’t like her, you know? I mean, I don’t hear any of her old comrades in the UFC saying anything good about Ronda Rousey, man… Nobody cares about Ronda Rousey but herself. She’s got a very, very high, you know, self-esteem, as far as you know, looking at herself a certain way. But I don’t think anybody else you know looks at Ronda that way, just because there again, I don’t know why she has so much hate and vitriol for the wrestling business.” [H/T WrestlingNews.co]
Ronda Rousey is insulting the business that gave her the spotlight from day one
Booker T also mentioned that Rousey was one of the main attractions during her WWE run. But now that she is criticizing the same company, the WWE Hall of Famer feels like it is an insult to professional wrestling.
“A business that led her in to go out there and have moments like at WrestleMania, you know, giving her the rowdy run, the Rousey gimmick, you know, right off the bat, making her, you know, something, when so many other people wish they had a spotlight like that. I don’t get it… I really feel like Ronda Rousey was given everything in this business. I really feel like this business opened the door for Ronda Rousey to come in and and have a great time and do a thing and make a lot of money, you know, and I can almost guarantee you this, Ronda probably made more money with the WWE than she did in the UFC, I can almost guarantee you that, you know, and to spit in the face of that it’s just, it’s an insult, it really is,” Booker T said.
