ECW legend The Sandman reveals what WWE Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan told him about what the plans were for their tag team.
In 2007, The Sandman teamed up with WWE Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan on an episode of WWE RAW. They faced Carlito and William Regal but lost the match in under three minutes. Before that, the duo had only teamed up once at a house show a few days earlier.
Reflecting on his short-lived tag team with WWE Hall of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan, The Sandman on a live episode of the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast. He recalled Duggan approaching him with big news that WWE was considering giving them the tag team titles.
“Oh dude, listen to this. So Duggan, Duggan comes up to me and he goes, he’s like, ‘Yo Hack, they’re thinking about putting the tag team straps on us.'”
While the idea sounded amazing for them, Sandman hilariously joked about how it would actually work in the ring.
“What? And I’m like, oh yeah, great. I turned around and I’m like, ‘Who the f*ck is gonna do the work? Who’s going to work? What are we both going to stand on the apron? Who’s doing the hot tag?’ It would be the worst hot tag in the history of freaking the business.”
