CM Punk sets the record straight.
WWE and ESPN have been doing a media blitz ahead of WrestlePalooza on September 20. The event is the first premium live event on ESPN, and it will feature Punk and AJ Lee versus Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch.
AJ spoke with ESPN and said that her ring rust might be an asset, because that also makes her unpredictable. AJ joked that she might braid Becky Lynch’s hair, or “bite her in the face.” She also said that all four participants “might four-way kiss” during the match.
CM Punk was also home while AJ did the interview in her office, and he felt the need to shoot her claims down on the spot. Punk, whispering from another room in their house, said he overheard his wife say they all might kiss. However, Punk was clear that it’s not happening.
“I’m whispering because my wife is currently doing media. And I just overheard her say that she’s unpredictable,” CM Punk said on his Instagram Stories. “She doesn’t know what she’s going to do [at WrestlePalooza], and we all might four-way kiss. I just want everyone to know that that is not going to happen.”
So there you have it. It will be clobberin’ time on Saturday night, but don’t expect any smoochin’.
WWE WrestlePalooza takes place at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Saturday, September 20. The event will be main evented by John Cena versus Brock Lesnar, who will be competing in his first match in over two years.
