TNA Star Comments On Not Being Part Of NXT Showdown

Steve Maclin believes that missing out on NXT Showdown could be part of something bigger.

NXT and TNA will go head-to-head this Tuesday on The CW when superstars from the iMPACT! Zone once again appear at the WWE Performance Center to determine which brand reigns supreme.

Four matches have been confirmed at the time of this writing, including two Survivor Series–style tag team contests featuring men and women from both brands. The men’s team from NXT includes Ricky Saints, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, and Myles Borne, while TNA will be represented by Mike Santana, Frankie Kazarian, Moose, and Leon Slater.

Steve Maclin addresses not being announced for NXT Showdown

Kazarian might not have been part of the lineup if he hadn’t defeated Steve Maclin for the TNA International Championship at Victory Road. As for Maclin, he addressed not being announced for NXT Showdown during a recent appearance on The Mark Hoke Show.

“I’m hoping for the best for team TNA and everybody involved,” Maclin said. “Obviously I’m not there, I wasn’t picked on the team, which kind of makes me wonder what’s going on in that situation.

“I guess not all soldiers or Marines are going to go to fight the war at the same time. I’ll just sit and wait for something a little bit bigger on that end… I’ve got my fingers crossed team TNA will do their thing, and we’ll see what comes out of that.”
