Kelani Jordan says some may WWE NXT views her as a traitor, but she remains focused on leading Team TNA to victory.
Kelani Jordan, the current TNA Knockouts World Champion, will captain the TNA women’s team in the upcoming WWE NXT vs. TNA Showdown. As an NXT star leading the rival team, Jordan finds herself in a challenging position.
Ahead of the big Survivor Series–style match, Kelani Jordan spoke with the Battleground Podcast. She said despite criticism from the NXT locker room she always aims to win and hates losing, no matter which brand she represents.
“One, as TNA Knockouts World Champion, I want to win. So I don’t like losing. I’m competitive. So whether I was on NXT or TNA, I want my team to win. I’ve always been like that my whole life. So it’s not going to change now, that’s first and foremost.”
She acknowledged that many in NXT see her as a traitor, but she remains determined to lead her team to victory. “Yes, I will say I am aware, though, that I know NXT feels like I’m a traitor. So I know they’re upset at me, but then I also know my teammates are one day gonna want to come for this title, so I have a target on my back, so I’m just gonna be super focused, but also aware of everyone around me, just in case, even Jordynne Grace, now that she’s special guest referee.” [H/T: Fightful]
Kelani Jordan will team up with TNA stars Mara Jade and The IInspiration to face WWE NXT’s Jacy Jayne, Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker and Lola Vice this week.
