Chelsea Green is backing up Piper Niven.
For over two years, Piper Niven has pledged her allegiance to Chelsea Green. Now, in a moment of need, Green is returning the favor.
During a recent interview with Woman’s World, Green revealed how she’s supporting Niven, her former co-women’s tag champion, while the Scot recovers from injury.
“We have all watched each other go through injuries,” Green said. “The girls took care of me when I broke my collarbone in India almost 10 years ago. They washed my hair, packed my bags, took me to the airport, got me on a plane home.
“Now it’s my turn to make sure that Piper is okay—more so mentally. There’s not much I can do physically, but I want to make sure that as she takes that step back, she realizes this is the time to rest, recover, brainstorm new ideas, start a new hobby, and not get in her head. Because, trust me, we get in our heads!”
Niven last wrestled on the August 22 edition of WWE SmackDown, where she emerged victorious over WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Charlotte Flair. A recent report from Fightful Select indicated that Niven is battling a neck injury, which is said to be serious, but not career-threatening.
Amidst Niven’s absence, Green is on the hunt for a temporary new Secret Hervice member to join Alba Fyre.
“Piper is so valuable to us,” Green said. “We’re not just replacing her, but the show goes on. This is Hollywood, baby! And I love to start a storyline on social media and plant the seed, because then the writers can gauge reactions and maybe bring it into their creative meetings.”
