Kurt Angle has reacted to UFC star Colby Covington using his iconic entrance music.
During an appearance on the Ariel Helwani Show, Olympic Gold Medalist and former WWE Champion Kurt Angle was asked about UFC’s Colby Covington using his entrance music over the past few years.
Angle replied that Covington’s agent reached out to him to ask if he could use the entrance music and that he had given his permission. However, Angle also agreed to Helwani’s statement that when fans chanted “You Suck” during Covington’s entrances, they were really saying it to him.
“Oh, listen, he called me out of nowhere. His agent called me and said, ‘Hey, we want to use your music, will it be okay?’ I said, ‘Yeah, Colby, he’s an a** kicker man, go ahead, tell him to do it.'” But you’re right, I think when the fans chant ‘You Suck,’ they’re really saying it to me.”
Kurt Angle Stated That He Would’ve Loved To Wrestle Bret Hart
Wrestling fans never got the chance to witness a match between Kurt Angle and Bret Hart. Who are two of the best technical wrestlers of all time.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Kurt Angle stated that he would’ve loved to wrestle Bret Hart and claimed that they would’ve had a five-star match.
“Bret Hart, I would have loved to wrestle Bret,” Kurt Angle said. “I talk about technical matches; he had some of the best, and he’s my kind of style. That’s my kind of guy that I like to work with. I think Bret and I would have had a five-star, incredible match.” [H/T: Fightful]
Bret Hart was with WCW when Kurt Angle made his WWE debut in 1999. Hart would have to retire from in-ring competition the following year. This was due to post-concussion syndrome caused by injuries sustained during a match against Goldberg at WCW Starrcade 1999.
While Hart did come out of retirement for sporadic matches in WWE between 2010 and 2011, Angle was with TNA Wrestling at the time.
