A WWE Hall of Famer has recently heaped significant praise on Cody Rhodes.
Arn Anderson has known Cody Rhodes since he was a young kid. They also worked together with The American Nightmare in AEW as his on-screen personal adviser and coach.
While speaking on the Busted Open Radio, Anderson was asked how he felt seeing Rhodes’ recent victory against John Cena. Which was technically a passing of the torch moment. Anderson replied that he feels like a doting uncle seeing Rhodes’ success in WWE. Claiming that The American Nightmare got to the top of the company the right way.
“Like a doting uncle. Very, very proud of him,” Anderson responded. “Because he did it the right way. He had a tough road to climb, being Dusty Rhodes’ son. You know, most people don’t realize, he’s always going to be compared to his dad. That’s not fair, because nothing about him is like his dad was. They were both megastars in different ways, different eras, in different times in the business. I would just say his dad would be very proud.” [H/T: F4WOnline]
Cody Rhodes Is Set To Defend The Undisputed WWE Championship Against Drew McIntyre
Following his match against Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel: Perth, Cody Rhodes is set to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis made the match official for Saturday Night’s Main Event, which will emanate from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, on November 1.
Drew McIntyre was originally scheduled to compete in a No.1 contenders match against Jacob Fatu on last week’s SmackDown, but The Samoan Werewolf was attacked before the contest. Rhodes then took on McIntyre in an impromptu WWE Championship match, but it ended in a disqualification after Rhodes hit The Scottish Warrior with the title belt.
The two rivals will now compete in a rematch of their Wrestlepalooza encounter, and it will be interesting to see who will walk out with the WWE Championship around their waist.
