Natalya Shares How The Rock Influenced The End Of Her Book

Natalya has revealed how The Rock’s one question influenced the finish of her new book.

Natalya appeared on The Velvet Ropes with SoCal Val to discuss her new book, The Last Hart Beating. The Rock had written the foreword for the book, and Natalya stated that when The People’s Champion was researching what he was going to write in the foreword, he asked her what the word legacy meant to her. Natalya claims that the question played a significant part in her coming up with the book’s conclusion.

“I was struggling with how to finish the book, and how to make the ending really strong, and he said to me when he was kind of researching what he was going to write, he’s like. ‘What does legacy mean to you?’ And he’s like, ‘What does it mean to you, what does it mean to your family? Like, what do you think when you hear the word legacy?'”

“So I was like, when I started to write out my thoughts about that, I was like, I found the finish, I found the finish of the book.”

Natalya Stated That Her Family’s Legacy Starts With Her Grandfather

Explaining more about The Rock’s question about legacy, Natalya stated that her family’s legacy started with her grandfather, Stu Hart.

“For me, like a lot of it starts with my grandfather, because when my grandfather, Stu Hart, started our whole family, he was sort of like the, you know, the root of the tree in the dirt, and I always look at our family you know you think of the Hart family it’s like one one big family tree but my grandfather was the root in the dirt.”

“He was the root of greatness, and then all of us, from Davy Boy, Dynamite, Bret, Owen, my dad, me, TJ, you know, Harry, the list goes on and on. We’ve got to be the branches on this beautiful tree.”

She was also grateful for The Rock and Bret Hart’s contributions to her book.

“The Rock really helped me, and he was just so great. I wanted Bret to do the introduction. So, the very first words you’ll read when you read my book are going to be Bret Hart’s words because he’s been somebody that’s really helped me. He’s helped me a lot along the way. Even inadvertently, he’s just been somebody so great as a resource and somebody I’ve looked up to so much.”

“And of course with The Rock, I was like, when I thought about him helping me with the book, I was like, he’s third generation. His father was a wrestler, my dad was a wrestler, his grandmother was a promoter, my grandfather was a promoter, and he’s connected through the industry still very much today. But you know, so I was very lucky and grateful to have people helping me.”
