Hangman Page does not view being the face of All Elite Wrestling as pressure, but as an opportunity.
During his recent appearance on The Drive podcast, reigning AEW World Heavyweight Champion Hangman Page was asked if he’s feeling the pressure of being the face of AEW.
Hangman Page responded, saying that while it is a ton of pressure, he’s making sure it doesn’t get to him and that he likes to view it as an opportunity and fortune.
“Yeah, I mean, it is pressure, and I think we all chase that pressure; it’s what comes with the prize, and you take it for what it’s worth. Certainly, it is a ton of pressure. I don’t let that get to me. You can’t afford to, if you want to hold that championship for very long.
“So I don’t let that get to me,” Hangman Page continued, “but instead of thinking of it as pressure, I’d like to think of it as responsibility and fortune. I have the responsibility, and I have the luck and the good fortune, and the opportunity in life to do this and do it at this level, you know, represent this company in the way that I do as World Champion. So I take it that way.”
Kenny Omega believes Hangman Page is the ace of AEW
Speaking to Hiroshi Tanahashi in a new interview series from NJPW World, Kenny Omega named Hangman Page as the Ace of All Elite Wrestling, saying the reigning World Champion can handle all styles of wrestling.
“No! Definitely not me. I’d say Hangman. He’s a great guy, and he can wrestle all kinds of styles. AEW is an American company, but we showcase a lot of different styles. There’s some lucha, some Strong Style, deathmatch as well. Hangman’s deathmatches have been scary. But he’s been able to work that style. He can handle anything, and he’s a genuinely great guy. He was my first tag partner in AEW. It’s all in the heart.” [H/T: Fightful]
