Kenny Omega believes AEW World Champion Hangman Page is the current Ace of the company.
In a new interview series from NJPW World, conducted by NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi as part of his road to retirement, Omega was one of the featured guests. During their conversation, Tanahashi asked Omega who he considers to be the Ace of AEW, the top star who represents the company.
Without hesitation, Kenny Omega named Hangman Page when asked who best represents AEW, praising his versatility and character. While Hiroshi Tanahashi mentioned Omega, Kenny insisted Page is the guy.
He said, “No! Definitely not me. I’d say Hangman. He’s a great guy, and he can wrestle all kinds of styles. AEW is an American company, but we showcase a lot of different styles. There’s some lucha, some Strong Style, deathmatch as well. Hangman’s deathmatches have been scary. But he’s been able to work that style. He can handle anything, and he’s a genuinely great guy. He was my first tag partner in AEW. It’s all in the heart.” [H/T: Fightful]
Currently, Hangman Page is in a heated feud with Samoa Joe, with both set to clash at AEW Full Gear for the AEW World Championship, a match that could further cement Page’s place as the company’s true Ace.
