Pro Wrestling Illustrated apologized after they accidentally left Hyan off the 2025 Women’s PWI 250 list.
This year’s PWI list named AEW star Mercedes Moné as the No. 1 women’s wrestler, followed by top stars like Toni Storm, Saya Kamitani, Tiffany Stratton, Stephanie Vaquer, Iyo Sky, Athena, Sareee, Trinity, and Rhea Ripley rounding out the top ten.
Fans quickly noticed that Hyan one of today’s most respected independent wrestlers. She was missing from the 2025 Women’s PWI 250 list. Hyan, reacted on X formerly known as Twitter, by pointing out the oversight. She wrote, “damn @OfficialPWI i think you left someone out ? #Womens250”
PWI editor Kevin McElvaney later acknowledged the error, explaining that Hyan had been ranked in the top third of an earlier draft but was accidentally removed during the final editing process. He took full responsibility and apologized for leaving her out.
He wrote, “With incredible embarrassment, I will own this. We had @_thehyan ranked in the top third of the list in an earlier draft, and, somewhere between the meetings and going to press, we omitted her entirely. My sincere apologies to one of the best unsigned wrestlers on the planet.”
Hyan made headlines this weekend after she and Maya World replaced Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize, who left AEW Collision before their scheduled match against TayJay.
