Mark Henry Pitches Ridiculous Idea For Joe Hendry To Be John Cena’s Last Match

Mark Henry has a unique idea for Joe Hendry to be a part of John Cena’s last match.

WWE announced the 16-man Last Time Is Now Tournament to decide John Cena’s final opponent at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. However, new WWE Superstar and former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry didn’t make it as one of the participants.

After previously proposing Joe Hendry to be John Cena’s final opponent, Mark Henry has pitched a new, unique idea for Hendry to still be part of Cena’s final match during an interview with TMZ’s Inside the Ring.

He proposed that Joe Hendry come out after John Cena’s final match and voluntarily lay down in the ring and ask Cena to pin him just for the privilege of being in the ring with the 17-time WWE Champion.

“If it was GUNTHER, I would be satisfied, but I still would want dessert.

“I would want Joe Hendry to come out and say, ‘I didn’t make it in the tournament, but before you leave, I want you to allow me the privilege of being in the ring with you.’

“And when Joe Hendry gets in the ring, you would think that John would be like, ‘Listen man, I’m done, I’ve just had my last match.’ But John is a soldier. And I would have Joe Hendry say, ‘John, I don’t wanna fight you, I wanted to have a match with you because I wanted to do this…’

“And have Joe Hendry lay down on the ground on his back and tell John Cena, ‘Cover me, so I can have that I had a match with you and you beat me on my record.’

“When you do things that are emotional and you do things that require heart strings to be pulled, that’s how you make it in wrestling. You have to emotionally affect people. It’s not about being in tight clothes and turning flips. It’s the storytelling.

“That’s what I hope they do. I hope they do something where not just one person is affected by John Cena leaving, but multiple people.” [H/T WrestleTalk]
