TNA is hopeful they can get AJ Styles to wrestle for the company one final time.
According to F4WOnline.com‘s Dave Meltzer (via The Wrestling Observer Newsletter), a WWE source shared that TNA is interested in having AJ Styles wrestle on Impact in 2026. It was noted that TNA would like to have Styles wrestle on the first show on AMC, which will air live on Thursday, January 15, 2026.
Styles appeared at TNA Slammiversary in July, which was his first appearance in TNA in over ten years. Styles didn’t wrestle on the show, but he cut a promo and praised X-Division Champion Leon Slater after he won the title on the show.
AJ Styles and Frankie Kazarian want the match to happen
Styles has shown interest in potentially wrestling for TNA in the past, and named Frankie Kazarian as a preferred opponent. Despite that, Styles recently said that he’s unsure a match in TNA will happen because he didn’t think WWE would allow it to happen. Frankie Kazarian, however, gave a more optimistic answer. The current TNA Champion told Busted Open Radio that both he and Styles want to have that match, but they are waiting on someone to sign off on it.
“Absolutely excites me. AJ and myself both put it out there over the last few months. He’s ready to go, I’m ready to go. We just basically need one or two guys to sign off on it.
“I know AJ wants this to happen. I want it to happen. More importantly, the fans want it to happen. That’s what we’re in the business of, of giving the fans what they want and giving the fans what they want one more time because AJ is hanging it up.”
