John Cena’s final WWE opponent has been confirmed, and in a perhaps unsurprising decision, it’s none other than “The Ring General” himself.
During Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, the finals of Cena’s “The Last Time is Now” Tournament took place. The match saw LA Knight and Gunther going at it in singles action. Although Knight gave it his all, it was none other than Gunter who emerged victorious.
The match came to an end after Gunther began hitting Knight with a variety of moves. These included multiple powerbombs, frog splashes, and more. Knight kept kicking out, though, forcing Gunther to keep trying. At the end of the match, Gunther locked Knight in a vicious chokehold and forced him to tap out.
After the win, Gunther turned to the camera and delivered a message to Cena. He said that at Saturday Night’s Main Event, he will make Cena “finally and definitely” give up.
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event is set to take place on December 13, 2025. The show will be at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., and will feature John Cena’s final match with WWE.
