Ricochet says there’s no greater insult than being called a Dallas Cowboys fan.
The inaugural AEW National Champion spoke with Adam Barnard of The Sportster ahead of his first title defense at ROH Final Battle. During the conversation, Barnard recalled his Mind of the Meanie co-host and ECW legend Blue Meanie telling a story about Wheeler Yuta, a Philadelphia native, being insulted by Eagles fans, who called him a Dallas Cowboys fan.
Ricochet is a Philadelphia Eagles fan and has not been shy about trashing “America’s Team.” He also agreed that there is no greater disrespect than being called a Dallas Cowboys fan.
“No, [there’s no greater insult]. Again, talk about people with dementia,” Ricochet explained, referencing an earlier dig at MVP, “[that’s] being a Cowboys fan. It’s—I don’t personally think you could call an Eagles fan anything worse. You could call me a Commanders fan, call me a Giants fan, I’ll take it. Don’t call me a Cowboys fan.”
Barnard said you could even mention the New England Patriots, who the Eagles beat in 2018 to win their first Super Bowl.
“My wife is from Boston; she’s from New Bedford, Massachusetts, so she followed them the whole time. I’m OK with that, but man, those are fighting words, trying to call me a Cowboys fan,” Ricochet explained. “They’ve had a sprinkle of good luck over the past couple of weeks. But we know what’s going to happen once we hit the postseason.”
The Dallas Cowboys haven’t won a Super Bowl in thirty years. Despite that, fans continue to insist that every year is their year.
If Cowboys fans want to relive the “glory years,” Barnard invited them to dust off a VHS copy of Super Bowl XXX.
Go Birds.
