One of WWE‘s top stars reportedly won’t be present during tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW.
Last month at WWE Survivor Series, World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk lost the Men’s WarGames match for his team after being attacked by a mystery attacker before being finished off by Bron Breakker.
It was announced last week on RAW that due to his pinfall victory over the World Champion, Breakker would receive a title shot against Punk on the January 5 episode of RAW. While many expected to hear Punk’s response to this announcement later tonight, it appears that this is not the case.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, CM Punk is not scheduled to appear on tonight’s episode of WWE RAW.
While many fans speculated his post-Survivor Series absence was due to the untimely death of his dog, Larry, that’s not accurate.
Johnson reports that Punk is currently on the set of Netflix’s upcoming movie, The Bodyguard. The injury storyline at Survivor Series, which was used to write him off TV, was done to allow him time to film this movie.

Tonight’s episode of WWE RAW will take place at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
