EC3 has some advice for a fellow NWA star.
The National Wrestling Alliance and All Elite Wrestling were recently involved in controversy after AEW debuted its version of the National Championship. Ricochet became the inaugural champion by winning the Casino Gauntlet at Full Gear.
However, some took offense to AEW introducing the title, with NWA World Television Champion Bryan Idol calling out Tony Khan on social media. Idol also clashed with another user over the legacy of the National Championship, a title that is also in use by Billy Corgan’s promotion and carries a much older lineage.
The National Championship was not the only point of contention between AEW and NWA. The two promotions were also locked in a legal dispute over the “Shockwave” branding until Tony Khan’s promotion dropped its bid to trademark the rumored fourth weekly AEW show.
EC3 has a message for NWA’s Bryan Idol
Bryan Idol recently reacted to criticism surrounding his stance on the AEW National Championship. Taking to X, the NWA star called out his critics by mocking their wrestling contracts and schedules.
“wow all of those unsigned wrestlers who bad mouthed me last month even tho i was totally in the right really helped me . My schedule is CRAZY FULL! Hey did Tony Kahn sign them? He totally should have,” he posted.
Idol’s remarks prompted a response from fellow NWA talent EC3, who offered some words of advice to the young champion.
“Leadership isn’t measured by how loudly you brag about ‘contracts” and ‘schedule.’ It’s measured by how you elevate the product and people around you. Carry yourself like the ‘champion’ you claim to be. Leave the pettiness to the ones who need it to feel relevant. Unless you need the pettiness to feel relevant.”
EC3 has been with NWA since 2022. He is a former National and Worlds Heavyweight Champion. His World Heavyweight Championship reign lasted 370 days before ending at the hands of Thom Latimer at the NWA 76th Anniversary Show on August 31, 2024.
