WWE NXT Results:

Lola Vice vs. Izzi Dame

Dame is all over Vice as soon as the bell rings. Vice fires back with strikes. Sean Spears tries to get involved, but Tatum Paxley chainsaws her way into the arena through a wall to chase Spears off. Vice hits her spinning back fist for the win.

Winner- Lola Vice

After the match, Kelani Jordan attacks Vice.

Grade: C+

Standard stuff here. The Paxley/Dame thing seems to have taken a bit of a backseat on NXT TV, and the heat after the match suffered as a result.

And NEW!

The new Women’s North American Champion, Thea Hail, admits that last week was a little controversial: no one believed she won, but she did. An emotional Hail says this is the greatest thing in her life. The crowd breaks out in a you deserve it chant. Hail says her journey led her here, and so many people doubted her. She never stopped believing. A cressfallen Blake Monroe walks out on the ramp. Monroe is just as distraught at Hail.

Monroe says Hail’s win was a fluke and an inconvenience she has to deal with. After getting in the ring, Monroe demands that Hail give her the title back. Monroe wants a rematch. Hail agrees. Monroe can have her match at New Year’s Evil. Monroe tells Hail not to pity her and clocks her one, both women brawl. Security separates them.

Grade: C+

This was both good and bad at the same time. Hail’s emotion was real, but this dragged on way too long. Side note: We know how we got here, but Hail should win the rematch.

WWE Men’s Speed Championship No. 1 Contenders Tournament: Tavion Heights vs. Eli Knight

Knight lands a flurry of offense, but Heights gets the win with a minute to spare with a belly-to-belly.

Winner- Tavion Heights

Grade: C

… this was a Speed match… Not going to bother with the normal “nothing registered, too fast” blah, blah. Not worth it. Happy Knight got some time on NXT TV. He looked good for… two minutes.

Face-to-Face

NXT GM Ava is in the ring with security. Ava introduces Je’Von Evans. Evans power walks to the ring and looks ready for a fight. Ricky SaintThey’ret next. Saints and Evans go back and forth. Evans wants the action. Ava grants them a match. They can face each other one final time.

Grade: B

Good stuff from Evans and Saints. We don’t get to see serious Evans often, but it works.

Shiloh Hill and Skylar Raye vs. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and Arianna Grace

Both teams do a ton of silly stuff with all of the Christmas swag around the ring. Grace tries to hit Hill with a bowling ball, but she accidentally hits Stacks below the belt with it. Grace hilariously runs into a Christmas tree. Hill Rybacks Stacks through a table (watch it and you’ll get my point). Back in the ring, Raye lands a frog splash, and by lands, I mean she drove both her knees into Grace’s gut from really high in the air. Not shockingly, Grace is done after this. Raye pins Grace.

Winners- Shiloh Hill and Skylar Raye

Grade: C-

Stacks and Grace should beat Hill and Raye’s you know whats as soon as they get backstage. Someone tell Hill and Raye this is a work.

WWE Men’s Speed Championship No. 1 Contenders Tournament: Andre Chase vs. Lexis King

King hits the Coronation with 13 seconds to spare for the win.

Winner- Lexis King

Grade: C

…………… At least they gave us a picture-in-picture of each competitor so they could say something about the match. I just.. ugh.

WWE Women’s United States Championship Match: Chelsea Green (c) w/Alba Fyre and Ethan Page vs. Sol Ruca w/Zaria

Green starts off in control. Ruca takes over after a surfboard stretch into a facebuster. Salute slap by Green. Green and Ruca trade strikes. Ruca sends Green over the top. A triangle moonsault from Ruca flattens Green, Fyre, and Page. After the break, Green is working over Ruca. Green gets a nearfall after a Rough Ryder. Rainbow DDT by Ruca. Page puts Green’s foot on the bottom rope. Zaria and Page argue. A wild Moose appears and attacks Page. Back in the ring, Ruca sets up the Sol Snatcher. Fyre hooks Ruca’s leg to stop the move. Green hits the Unprettiher for the win.

Winner and STILL Women’s United States Champion, Chelsea Green!

After the match, Zaria checks on Ruca. Zaria goes nuts and Spears Fyre and Green similtaniously. Ruca looks on and joins in, obliterating Green and Fyre with a double Sol Snatcher.

Grade: B-

This was fun and the match of the night. Green is so entertaining and Ruca is a superstar in the making. There was no way Ruca was winning this match, but the finish further Moose’s angle with Page and also gave Ruca and Zaria a bit of an edge. instead of turning on each other, maybe the both turn? Maybe a tweener turn?

WWE NXT Results:

Overall, this was not a good show. The pacing was all over the place. Most of the matches were just ok, leading to an overall passable show. A stong promo from Je’Von Evans and a fun main event isn’t enough to save this show from being a drag.

Rating: C-
