It appears that either people in Endeavor can predict the future, or they knew about Vince McMahon‘s eventual WWE return long before anyone else.
An extensive report from Brandon Thurston of POST Wrestling just dropped regarding Vince McMahon’s WWE retirement and eventual return six months later.
Following Vince McMahon’s WWE retirement in July 2022, Endeavor’s Mark Shapiro sent out the following message regarding McMahon’s departure and eventual return:
“Nick and Stephanie are going to take over the WWE for the next nine months,” Shapiro wrote, referring to Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon, who became co-CEOs that day. “Vince [will] be back with a new board or he will take the company private or he will sell it/coming to us. The race is on. The courtship is on.”
As we all know, Vince McMahon did make his eventual return to WWE, but instead of nine months, he did it in six. McMahon used his voting power as a controlling shareholder to reinstate himself back onto the Board of Directors.
Three months later, WWE agreed to merge with Endeavor to create TKO. This nine-month window makes Mark Shapiro look like a prophet. Or he knew something at the time that no one else did.
Vince McMahon met with Ari Emanuel two weeks after retiring
Following Vince McMahon’s retirement, newly released documents seem to imply that he wasn’t staying out of WWE’s business.
Endeavor’s Ari Emanuel and McMahon set up a meeting at a steakhouse on August 10. McMahon inquired about bringing along both Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan to the dinner, which implies this was a lot more about business than just a friendly dinner between friends.
