Bruce Prichard Once Called Dusty Rhodes’ Mom A Whore In Front Of Her

Bruce Prichard recounts the time he accidentally insulted Dusty Rhodes’ mother while she was in the room.

Speaking on a recent episode of his Something To Wrestle podcast, current WWE Executive Director of creative writing Bruce Prichard shared some stories from his time working together with late WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes. During the conversation, he also recalled the time he called Rhodes’ mother a whore, not knowing she was in the room.

“I gotta tell you something about momma Rhodes. As a little kid, I would go and meet her and take her to her box and make sure she had her popcorn and her drinks and all that. So, at a very young age, I knew momma Rhodes, and I knew Dusty.

“We were working the Compaq Center, the old Summit, and she was backstage. I knew she was gonna be there, but I didn’t know that she was there at that moment. I’m going down the hall, and I see Dream, and I just yell [doing his Terry Funk impression], ‘Virgil [Dusty Rhodes’ real name], your mother’s a whore.’ He turns around, and there’s momma Rhodes. I thought she was gonna whoop my ass,” Bruce Prichard said.

Bruce Prichard Explains What Went Wrong With The nWo

Speaking in another episode of Something to Wrestle, Bruce Prichard explained what he believes went wrong with the nWo when the legendary WCW stable came to WWE. Talking about what would’ve been a suitable ending to the nWo, he said:

“I would have ended it in ’98. I mean, look again, it was a turning point in the business. It was one of the greatest stories and great angles, and magnificent. But that was a place in time. They never moved on beyond it.

“They had nowhere to go beyond it. So we’ll make a nWo red, we’ll make an nWo blue, make an nWo yellow, make an nWo green. Let’s do a turquoise. It was great, [but] it got too big to where I don’t care. The only people I ever cared about in the nWo were Hulk, Nash, and Hall. That’s me. It’s an opinion. So everybody that comes into that after that is gone. It’s less than,” Bruce Prichard said.
