WWE Hall Of Famer Believes Drew McIntyre Must Defeat Cody Rhodes

Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes will clash in Berlin in a Three Stages of Hell Match. And according to one WWE legend, Drew has to win.

Speaking during the most recent episode of SiriusXM’s Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry said he believes Drew has to win. Laying out his case, Henry noted that McIntyre has already been put “through the ringer.” He went on to say Drew needs to be thrown a bone at some point, with this match being the perfect place.

“Drew’s been run through the wringer,” Henry said. “He always gets to the dance, but then they can’t find his invitation. It’s time to throw the dude a bone and let him have his gloating heel king moment. And it’s like I remember when Booker T went into the King of the Ring, and he won the King of the Ring, and he became King Booker.

“Drew needs a moment of being the guy. So he can remind everybody how good he is, one. And two, build up heat, and you want to see the title be taken off of him. Like that’s an important thing in wrestling. We went away from what becomes important, and we want to do what’s just entertaining.”

McIntyre continued his antagonistic ways against Cody on Friday’s episode of SmackDown. The star burned a picture of Rhodes’ father, and taunted him while laying out their match. The first match will be a standard match, followed by a Falls Count Anywhere match, and then finally a Steel Cage match.
