The WWE NXT Championship is once again without a holder.
At NXT New Year’s Evil, Oba Femi put the NXT Championship on the line against TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater. The finish saw Oba hit Slater with his Fall From Grace powerbomb to secure the victory.
Backstage, Robert Stone interrupted Ava to inform her of Oba’s actions. The closing shot of New Year’s Evil showed the NXT Championship lying in the middle of the ring as Tony D’Angelo watched from the crowd.
As for Oba Femi, he was nowhere to be seen. The Ruler later took to social media to tease that he had vacated the title following his performance at NXT New Year’s Evil.
In a subsequent update on X, WWE officially confirmed that Oba Femi had vacated the championship after his victory at the event, asking fans to stay tuned for further updates.

Who will challenge for the WWE NXT Championship?
With the NXT Championship once again up for grabs, fans are curious to see who will emerge as a contender. Ricky Saints made it clear that he was coming after the title during his in-ring promo at New Year’s Evil.
Then there is Tony D’Angelo. The Don of NXT resurfaced after months away at NXT Deadline, where he dropped Iron Survivor Challenge winner Je’Von Evans with a sideslam before engaging in a staredown with Oba Femi.
