Oba Femi has broken his silence following a controversial finish to last night’s WWE NXT New Year’s Evil special.
The main event of last night’s WWE NXT saw Oba Femi defend the NXT Championship against current TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater. The finish of the match saw Femi hit Slater with the Fall From Grace powerbomb to score the pinfall victory.
Following the match, cameras took fans to a pointless backstage segment while Oba Femi left the NXT Championship in the ring, seemingly vacating the title.
As we’ve seen in recent weeks, vignettes for Oba Femi have aired on RAW and SmackDown, teasing The Ruler’s inevitable main roster call-up. And now it appears Femi has confirmed that his time in NXT has come to an end.
Oba Femi took to his Instagram to post a photo of the NXT Championship alongside a very definitive caption, stating:
“The End is also part of the journey ? FIN !”
While we don’t know which WWE main roster brand Femi will end up on, it’s clear we’re going to get that answer sooner rather than later.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
