WWE management reportedly has their eyes on one of New Japan Pro-Wrestling‘s top stars whose contract is set to expire soon.
In recent weeks, WWE has moved some of its top NXT performers to the main roster, leaving many holes to fill for Shawn Michaels’ brand in 2026. And it’s now being reported that the company has its eyes on the final leader of Bullet Club.
On the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE has discussed bringing in former IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion David Finlay. If you aren’t familiar with his work but the last name rings a bell, it should. David Finlay is the son of WWE Legend Fit Finlay.
While there have reportedly been no discussions between the two sides yet, WWE is interested in bringing him in for the NXT brand. Despite that, New Japan is hopeful to retain Finlay. The performer currently has obligations to the company at the moment. With Bullet Club effectively ending earlier this month, it might be time for Finlay to move on.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
