Liv Morgan Calls WWE Star ‘The Batman To My Joker’

Liv Morgan feels like she’s in the DC Universe.

The story between Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan continues as the former prepares to defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against the latter at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Unlike their previous encounters, Morgan says this one was not intentional. As fate would have it, though, Ripley recently captured the very title that Morgan is currently eyeing.

“I was like, ‘It’s nice to see you, buddy. You look good,’ which I meant that,” Morgan said on WWE Raw Recap following her number one contender’s win alongside Roxanne Perez on this week’s Raw. ‘It’s been a while. It’s been a while. She’s like the Batman to my Joker. I am the villain in her hero story, and she is the villain in my hero story. And so I think that we will always have ties to a degree, but this was not intentional. Whomever, whoever, it doesn’t matter, whoever had these tag team titles, we were coming for them regardless.

“It could’ve been Rhea, it could’ve been The Kabukis, it could’ve been Bayley and Lyra [Valkyria], which is actually never, because they’re never gonna win those titles ever, ever, ever. It just happened to be Rhea and IYO [SKY], so it really was what it was. But it was good to see her.”

Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley have a storied history with each other

Morgan and Ripley’s history extends back to 2022, when the pair linked up for a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 38, then Raw. When their efforts proved unsuccessful, Ripley turned on Morgan. In 2024, Morgan inadvertently injured Ripley’s shoulder, resulting in Ripley vacating the WWE Women’s World Championship and Morgan enjoying a seven-month reign with it shortly after. In January 2025, Ripley avenged it by dethroning Morgan on the Netflix premiere of Raw.

Last week, Ripley and IYO SKY bested Asuka and Kairi Sane for the Women’s Tag Team Championships on the first anniversary show. With a win over Sane and Asuka as well as Lyra Valkyria and Bayley, Morgan and Roxanne Perez are now positioned are their first challengers.
