WWE Referee Injured In Serious Car Accident

A WWE referee and her pro wrestler husband got injured in a serious car accident.

Former NXT Superstar Leon Ruff, who’s married to current WWE referee Daphanie LaShaunn, took to Instagram to share that he and his wife got injured in a serious car accident. He revealed that they’re both back home from the hospital and that his wife has sustained more damage than he has.

Their car is totaled, and the former WWE star is seeking help from any independent bookers, looking to pick up extra bookings to support themselves.

“Earlier today, my wife and I were rear-ended on the road. We just got home from the hospital and we’re both sore and shaken up. I’m alright, but Aja is hurting more than I am. Unfortunately, the car is totaled. If anyone has any connections to bookers or upcoming shows, I’d truly appreciate the opportunity to pick up some extra bookings. Please drive safe and always wear your seatbelt,” the former WWE star said.

Daphanie LaShaunn signed with WWE in 2020 and started by officiating matches in NXT. She made history at WrestleMania 38 when she became the first black female referee to officiate a contest at the Show of Shows. She is also a former one-time WWE 24/7 Champion.

Leon Ruff competed for WWE under its NXT brand, where he was a one-time NXT North American Champion. After his WWE tenure ended, he also competed for AEW in 2022 and remains active on the independent scene.
