Chris Jericho Says You’ll Always Have A Job Because Of This Key Attribute

Chris Jericho believes having one key attribute will ensure an artist always has a job.

While the fans are buzzing over his potential return to WWE, Chris Jericho recently sat down for an interview with Soundsphere’s Dom Smith, discussing his band Fozzy’s plans for 2026.

During the conversation, Chris Jericho opened up about the similarities between his music and wrestling careers. He believes it’s essential for an artist to engage with fans and maintain a connection with them. He noted that this attribute will always ensure they have a job.

“You do learn how to control an audience,” Chris Jericho began. “It’s very important. You want people to react and have a great time. You want people to cheer when you want them to, and you want them to boo when you want them to. There are a lot of prompts that I will use on-stage and in the ring. You don’t want dead air. You’ve got to be a party host! It’s so important for you to have that interaction, and connection with an audience. If you can do that, you will always have a job!”

During the conversation, Jericho also commented on ageism in entertainment, but said it doesn’t have to be a death sentence.

Jim Ross reveals where he believes Chris Jericho will end up

Speaking on a recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast, AEW commentator Jim Ross commented on Jericho’s current status and where he believes he’ll end up at some point in 2026.

“I think it’s WWE or nothing for Jericho,” Jim Ross began. “He’s happy — he seems to be happy. He’s got a lot of influence at AEW. He basically, to simplify it, books his own angles and he works with the creator guys and they communicate well. And Chris don’t come empty-handed.

“He’s always got a plan, but I think his goal, if it is to leave AEW, where he’s got a great deal — I’m under the impression he’s got a great deal — then I think it’s WWE or he stays where he is. I don’t think the TNA thing plays into it. But, you know, I could be wrong. Money changes a lot of opinion and a lot of sentiment,” Jim Ross said about Chris Jericho. [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]
