TNA iMPACT Results
The System kicks off the show, with Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, Bear Bronson, and Cedric Alexander in the ring. Myers recaps the shocking betrayal from last week’s iMPACT, but the crowd doesn’t want to hear from the group.
Eddie Edwards says Moose never truly cared about The System and claims he was a “prick” to them backstage. Edwards then turns his attention to JDC, saying Dango only joined The System to ride their coattails.
Alisha Edwards appears and calls out her husband for betraying both JDC and Moose. She reveals that her contract is coming up soon. Eddie tells her not to air their personal business in front of the fans. Alisha responds by saying she no longer wants to be part of The System. She then walks away from the group, teasing that she may be done not only with the faction but with TNA Wrestling as well.
We hear from BDE
Gia Miller is backstage with BDE. Miller asks for his thoughts heading into tonight’s match against Nic Nemeth. BDE says Nemeth called him out last week on TNA iMPACT, and he stood up to the veteran to prove he belongs in this business.
BDE vs. Nic Nemeth
- The finish of the match saw Nic Nemeth catch BDE mid-air and hit the Danger Zone for the win.
Winner: Nic Nemeth
After the match, Nic Nemeth heads backstage but runs into his younger brother, Ryan Nemeth, along the way. Ryan congratulates Nic on the victory and tells him to go take a “hot shower” while he handles the next segment.
Ryan then calls out Mara Sade, who makes her way to the ring. He tells Sade to acknowledge her defeat at TNA Genesis. Sade responds by saying Ryan only got away with the pinfall. She shakes his hand but then lands a few punches. Mara goes for a superkick, but Ryan catches her and nearly takes her head off with a clothesline. The segment ends with officials checking on Mara Sade as Ryan Nemeth heads to the back.
Grade: B+
BDE’s 25th career match came against Nic Nemeth, which is an impressive milestone. The bout didn’t feel overly drawn out, despite some crowd-taunting and commercial breaks. Nic didn’t catch all of BDE on the Danger Zone, but he got enough of it to secure the pinfall victory. As for the post-match segment, Mara showed toughness after taking what looked like a very stiff clothesline.
The Elegance Brand has all the more reason to celebrate…
The Elegance Brand is backstage waiting for Ash By Elegance, who is brought into the room by Mr. Elegance. Ash is presented with a bouquet and a necklace. The Personal Concierge then announces that Ash has been cleared to compete.
Ash declares that she never lost the TNA Knockouts Championship. The celebration is interrupted by Knockouts Champion Lei Ying Lee, who tells Ash she can face the champion anytime, anywhere.
Indi Hartwell and Xia Brookside then appear, prompting Ash to tease a six-woman tag team match.
Stacks vs. Home Town Man
- The finish of the match saw Stacks use the ring ropes for leverage to secure the pinfall victory.
Winner: Stacks
Grade: B-
Say what you want about The Home Town Man, but his matches are always entertaining. That said, this writer has a hard time figuring out whether Arianna Grace is a babyface based on her antics during the match. She didn’t let her fiancé cheat, but she was too distracted to notice him picking up a controversial win.
Arianna Grace and Stacks are backstage. Stacks asks Arianna why she didn’t help him win the match. Arianna reminds him that they talked earlier and says she’s trying to make up for the mistakes she made.
Santino Marella walks in, but Arianna tells him she has the situation under control. She then warns Stacks that there will be consequences for winning the match the way he did.
Elijah vs. Jason Hotch
- The finish of the match saw Elijah hit his jumping knee strike and piledriver combination on Jason Hotch for the win.
Winner: Elijah
Elijah doesn’t get time to celebrate, as he’s immediately jumped by Tasha Steelz and John Skyler. Mustafa Ali then orders Special Agent Zero to grab Elijah’s guitar. Elijah fights back, kicking Ali in the stomach before taking care of The Great Hands. He attempts to swing the guitar at Ali, but Special Agent Zero makes the save just in time.
Grade: B-
There was some good action here. My only issue was a moment where Elijah looked a bit foolish going after Ali, as Hotch appeared to mistime a suicide dive. The strike didn’t look like it was meant to connect, which made the sequence feel off. Moments like that happen when there’s more focus on big spots than on the smaller details that make modern wrestling feel less choreographed. The guitar shot likely would have devastated Ali had Elijah connected with it after the match.
Jada Stone gets interrupted
We hear from TNA Knockout Jada Stone, who says she’s here to make a statement. She’s interrupted by Order 4. Jada tells Mustafa Ali that she doesn’t appreciate their actions, but Ali begins to bully her. Jada fires back, telling him, “I can drop you.”
Tasha Steelz tries to play peacemaker but suddenly drops Jada Stone with a forearm strike. Security rushes in to break up the confrontation. The segment ends with Elijah walking up to Jada and offering her support.
Elayna Black vs. Ruthie Jay
- The finish of the match saw Elayna Black hit Ruthie Jay with a double underhook twisting neckbreaker to secure the victory.
Winner: Elayna Black
I don’t usually grade showcase matches, but Elayna Black’s finisher looks impressive. She has a strong opportunity to succeed in TNA Wrestling, and with Dariae Rae as her mouthpiece, we can expect even better things for the former Cora Jade down the line.
The Hardys and The Righteous backstage
The Hardys are interrupted backstage by The Righteous. Vincent and Dutch reflect on their tag team title match at TNA Genesis. Matt tries to speak, but Vincent stops him, ending the segment with a tease of another potential match.
Feast or Fired Cases Reveal
Trey Miguel wonders if he’ll be fired twice in one month. He opens his case, revealing a guaranteed shot at the TNA International Championship. Next, Eddie Edwards opens his case, earning an opportunity to challenge for the TNA World Title.
Finally, it’s Steve Maclin’s turn. The atmosphere shifts as Maclin reveals he drew the short straw—he’s fired on TNA iMPACT. This leaves Eric Young with the final briefcase and the chance to challenge for the X Division Championship.
The System confronts Mike Santana
The System meets TNA World Champion Mike Santana backstage. Eddie Edwards flaunts his upcoming world title opportunity, but Santana tells him he’s no stranger to defeating challengers like Edwards. Eddie responds confidently, insisting that Santana can’t beat The System.
The camera then cuts to the commentary desk, where Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt struggle to process Steve Maclin’s exit from TNA Wrestling. Hannifan even breaks character to send a personal message to his best friend, noting that he wouldn’t have a job with TNA if it weren’t for Maclin.
Next week on TNA iMPACT
The following matches will take place next Thursday on TNA iMPACT:
- Elijah and Jada Stone vs. Mustafa Ali and Tasha Steelz
- The Righteous in action
- Indi Hartwell and The Angel Warriors vs. The Elegance Brand
Rich Swann vs. AJ Francis – No Holds Barred
- The finish of the match saw Rich Swann hit AJ Francis with a huge splash on his spine for the win.
Winner: Rich Swann
As Swann is taken backstage, the camera pans to Daria Rae on a phone call in her office. She opens the door to find former TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian, who tells Daria they need to talk. The door closes as the show goes off the air.
Grade: A+
This is an early contender for TNA iMPACT Match of the Year, at least for me. Rich Swann gave AJ Francis two of the best matches of his singles career in less than two months. For a man his size, Francis took some incredible bumps, including two hurricanranas—one through stacked tables and the other through stacked chairs. The Pedigree looked a little awkward, but that doesn’t take away from the performance.
Overall Grade: B+
Tonight’s episode of TNA iMPACT had a mix of highs and lows. The in-ring action between Rich Swann and AJ Francis was brilliant, but the talking point of the night will undoubtedly be Steve Maclin’s exit. For those unaware, Maclin is a former TNA World Champion and the inaugural International Champion. Reports had suggested he was working with the company on a contract extension, but that no longer appears to be the case following the Feast or Fired case reveals. Fortunately, today’s wrestling business allows stars like Steve Maclin to bet on themselves.
That’s it for tonight—this writer will return next Thursday with more TNA iMPACT coverage.
