LA Knight loves the city of Cleveland.
In the main event of this week’s WWE Raw, LA Knight punched his ticket to WWE Elimination Chamber, partially thanks to the interference of a mystery masked man. Regardless of the circumstances, Knight was evidently fired up after his win as he delivered an emotional promo before the live crowd in Cleveland, Ohio.
“Right here in Cleveland, I won my first ever major singles title in this company. Yeah!” he exclaimed (footage via X). “So that tells me, with all the years that I’ve been running around the world, all the years I’ve been running around here, Cleveland has to be one of my homes. In a city like this, there’s no way you can’t hold that in your heart. That’s where I hold each and every one of you, and I thank you for it. What you just saw is you saw me go on to the Elimination Chamber, where there’s a chance that I might go on to WrestleMania. Then there’s a possibility that maybe, long overdue, I could be standing here holding the damn world title.”
Only One Thing Truly Matters For LA Knight
Admittedly, Knight doesn’t know what the future exactly holds for him in WWE, but at the end of the day, he says there’s only one thing that truly matters.
“There’s something I learned over the last little while, and that is this: I must rise,” he said. “That might not mean much to you, but I had a moment. It’s not just me, because let me be honest, I don’t stand here without everybody out there doing what you just did, chanting a little ‘LA Knight,’ saying a little ‘Yeah!’ so I must rise. You must rise. We all must rise.”
According to Knight, he knows that whenever he performs in Cleveland, the people will support him, and furthermore, “tell [the wrestling business] whose game this is” by loudly chanting his name and his catchphrase.
As he alluded to, Knight’s first main roster title win came at WWE SummerSlam 2024 in Cleveland, where he dethroned Logan Paul as United States Champion. His reign went on to span four months before he lost the title to Shinsuke Nakamura.
