Joe Hendry vs. Ricky Saints NXT Title Match Set For Vengeance Day After Heated Confrontation

Tensions between Joe Hendry and Ricky Saints reached a boiling point on the February 17 episode of WWE NXT, setting the stage for a championship clash at Vengeance Day.

The night took a sharp turn after Kelani Jordan submitted Lola Vice with a bridging short-arm scissors.

Later in the show, chaos erupted in the parking lot when Hendry blindsided Saints. Security quickly separated the two, but the damage — and the message — had already been delivered.

When Hendry made his entrance later in the broadcast, he wasn’t in his usual singing mood. The NXT Champion made it clear he wanted Saints “right here, right now,” promising to kick him around the arena.

Saints responded from the balcony, accusing Hendry of stealing the title in their February 3 Ladder Match.

In that bout, both men battled atop the ladder before Hendry struck Saints with the championship and retrieved the gold. Saints argued that fans overlook that moment because Hendry has a catchy song and crowd support.

“NXT has a meme as a champion now,” Saints said, criticizing Hendry as more of a social media act than a true standard-bearer.

Joe Hendry fired back, stating the only fact that matters is that he’s NXT Champion — and Saints is not. The exchange escalated quickly, with Saints challenging the NXT Champion to defend the title at Vengeance Day on March 7. Hendry accepted without hesitation.

The rivalry has simmered for weeks, including Saints’ ambush on February 10 following Hendry’s successful defense against Jackson Drake. Now, the score will be settled under bright lights.

At Vengeance Day, belief meets bravado — and only one man will walk out with the NXT Championship.
