WWE’s Finn Balor ‘Finds’ His WrestleMania Opponent In A Unique Way

Finn Balor found his WWE WrestleMania 42 opponent in the last place you’d expect!

Several WWE Superstars appeared at the Topps Rip Night event held in various hobby shops across the US on Saturday, February 21. Inaugural Universal Champion Finn Balor showed up at AA Mint Cards in Miami, Florida, and ripped open his pack, and the first card he drew out was a Roman Reigns one.

Finn Balor then jokingly said, “Oh, I got my WrestleMania opponent,” subtly implying he’ll win the World Heavyweight Championship at Elimination Chamber this Saturday. Balor will face CM Punk for the title at the PLE, and if recent reports are true, he has a real chance at walking out as the new champion.

If Finn Balor accomplishes that, not only will he have won a main roster world title after nearly a decade, but he will also go on to main event WrestleMania 42 with 2026 men’s Royal Rumble winner Roman Reigns.

WWE Hall of Famer believes Finn Balor is better off on his own

Finn Balor has been a member of the Judgment Day since June 2022. While he went on to become a multiple-time tag team champion during his run with the faction, many fans believe it’s time for him to break away from the faction and become a singles star.

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray also shared the same opinion on a recent episode of Busted Open Radio. He was discussing Balor’s World Heavyweight Championship match against CM Punk on the January 19 episode of RAW.

“I like Finn Balor a hell of a lot more when Finn Balor is by himself than connected to anybody else,” Bully Ray said. “I had like, this overwhelming feeling watching that match last night. I’m like, wow, I wish Finn was just alone.”

Bully Ray’s co-host, Dave LaGreca, chimed in, saying Finn Balor should’ve won the title that night.

“I said it to you last week. I was like, Man, if I was the WWE, I would have Finn beat CM Punk, because I feel like he could easily just jump right back into that main event scene by beating CM Punk. Last night, he comes out like you said. He has the old theme, the excitement with his entrance. Remember how cool Finn’s entrance always used to be? We got that last night.

“And then even the commentators are calling it the Saint versus the Prince, which reminds you of Prince Devitt, and then he has one hell of a match, loses the CM Punk and Bully, I don’t know what you do or where Finn Balor goes from here, because after what I saw last night, it’s going to be hard for me to look at him as just a member of The Judgment Day again.”
