Finn Balor has addressed growing speculation ahead of WWE Elimination Chamber on February 28, making it clear that one long-discussed possibility isn’t part of the plan — at least not this weekend.
With Balor set to challenge CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship in Chicago, many fans wondered whether the high-stakes setting would trigger the return of his alter ego, The Demon.
The persona hasn’t come to life since WrestleMania 39 in 2023. Nostalgia around his earlier entrance theme only fueled the chatter.
Finn Balor Addresses Speculation Before Elimination Chamber
Speaking with Radio Times, Balor dismissed the idea that The Demon will appear at Elimination Chamber. He stressed that while the character still has a future, “timing is everything,” and right now the focus is on “Finn and Punk” — not theatrics.
“It’s really more than just paint, it’s a mental state,” Balor explained. He added that the persona requires more than simply showing up prepared, calling it an alter ego he must fully tap into. While he said he wants to revisit it, he noted the timing has to be right. For now, his attention is fixed on the World Heavyweight Championship.
The match itself stems from Balor’s recent attack on Punk, which earned him the opportunity. He has vowed to win the title on his own and instructed Judgment Day not to interfere — meaning no backup, no body paint, and no smoke and mirrors.
Punk has also weighed in, mocking the speculation by saying, “I’m a demon without having to wear a costume.”
With Elimination Chamber airing live on ESPN domestically and Netflix internationally, Balor’s message is clear — this isn’t about alter egos. It’s about proving the “Prince” can take the throne without summoning any demons.
