Former WWE Star Reacts To Being Left Off Greatest Wrestling Dynasties List

Joe Hennig calls out a fan account for leaving him off a greatest wrestling dynasties list.

Former WWE Superstar Curtis Axel is highlighting that his family has been active in professional wrestling for three generations. His grandfather is Larry “The Axe” Hennig, and his father is “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig. However, an AI-generated list only included two of them.

For context, an account on Twitter/X posted a graphic ranking the greatest wrestling dynasties. At the top was the Bloodline/Anoa’i family, followed by the Harts, McMahons, Flairs, Ortons, and Hennigs among the families filling out the other nine spots.

However, the AI only listed Axel’s father, Curt Hennig (aka Mr. Perfect), and another likeness who was either a second Mr. Perfect or a poor amalgamation of Curt and Larry or Joe. Either way, the graphic suffered from poor image quality, with some likenesses looking terrible.

“Haha! Really?” Curtis Axel wrote in response.

Similarly, the Orton family only featured Randy Orton and not his father, “Cowboy” Bob Orton.

Update: The original poster deleted the post after Hennig responded.

Curtis Axel’s WWE run

Joe Hennig made his WWE main roster debut during John Cena’s rivalry with The Nexus in 2010. He and Husky Harris (later known as Bray Wyatt) were inducted into the group on an episode of RAW in October of that year.

After struggling in the tag division, Axel found singles success through his partnership with Paul Heyman, capturing the Intercontinental Championship at Payback 2013. Following the 2015 Royal Rumble, Axel claimed he was never eliminated from the match, leading to the birth of “AxelMania” and a subsequent alliance with Damien Sandow.

Curtis Axel was released from WWE in 2020 as part of pandemic-related cuts but returned in 2022 as a backstage producer. His second run with the company ended just three months later.
