WWE Star Mocks Jelly Roll’s Past Weight on SmackDown

The March 13 episode of WWE SmackDown featured a Miz TV segment between Jelly Roll and The Miz. During the segment, the WWE star mocked Jelly Roll’s past weight and tried to take credit for his weight loss, which turned the conversation into a heated confrontation.

Jelly Roll appeared on the show a week after the announcement surfaced that he would return to SmackDown to reconnect with his friends Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes. But the situation changed once The Miz tried to offer himself as Jelly Roll’s mentor.

The Miz welcomed Jelly Roll to Miz TV and said he sees a lot of potential in Roll and that he could help him by mentoring him and teaching him his three core values that he lately keeps talking about in every episode.

However, the country-rap star wasn’t interested and immediately rejected the offer. That response clearly annoyed The Miz, who then tried to take credit for Jelly Roll’s major weight-loss journey.

“Everyone celebrates the story, but no one talks about the person behind that redemption story. And that person is me. Two years ago, at SummerSlam, you fell down and your obese butt couldn’t get yourself back up. You couldn’t get yourself back up. And what happened? To save you from that embarrassment, I reached my hand down and picked you up. And in that moment, Jelly Roll, in that moment, you realized that you needed to change your life,” Miz said.

The comment surprised Jelly Roll, but he didn’t hold back. He hit back at Miz’s words and made it clear that his transformation was his own achievement.

Roll wondered whether Miz had become that “delusional” and “narcissistic” now that he was taking the credit for Roll losing 250 lbs.

“I’m the one that got up and ran them miles baby, I’m the one that changed my life. I’m the one that brought that absolute dog out of me. And for you to stand here and try to take credit for it, you should be disgusted with yourself, Mike,” Roll said.

But in return, Miz responded, “I liked you a lot better when you were fat,” mocking Jelly Roll’s past weight.

That made the situation even more intense. Jelly Roll warned Miz that he would “whip his ass.” Miz tried to regain control by saying he was a locker-room leader, but Jelly Roll called him an “ass.”

Later, Kit Wilson interrupted the segment and accused him of being “fatphobic.”

The segment then turned physical when Wilson shoved Jelly Roll. Miz tried to calm things down, but when Jelly Roll swung to knock Wilson out, Wilson ducked and Roll accidentally hit Miz instead.
