3 Possible Voices Behind Randy Orton’s Phone Call on WWE RAW

The March 16 episode of WWE RAW featured Randy Orton on a phone call. He skipped a planned interview with Michael Cole and appeared via satellite instead of showing up in person.

Before talking to Cole, Orton was seen ending a phone call. That short moment gave rise to some speculation. He said things like “of course you were watching Friday,” “it is time,” thanked the person, and added that he would “see him soon.” After that, Orton mentioned that a recent talk with someone “who has a brain” helped him realize who he really is. “I am a killer,” Orton said.

He ended the segment with a cryptic line, “Wrestling has more than one royal family,” and confirmed he will appear on WWE SmackDown this week.

Since WWE hasn’t revealed who he was talking to, here are three likely options:

1. Cowboy Bob Orton

The most personal option is Orton’s father. WWE Hall of Famer Bob Orton played a big role in Randy’s early “Legend Killer” days. Orton mentioning the word “killer” again could be a nod to that past. The “royal family” line might also point to his wrestling roots as a third-generation star.

2. Dwayne Johnson

Another option is The Rock. Last year, he influenced John Cena to turn heel against Cody Rhodes. WWE could be doing something similar with Orton. If The Rock is involved, it could mean there is a bigger power move happening behind the scenes, especially against Cody Rhodes.

Randy Orton’s line about talking to someone “with a brain” could hint at a mastermind like him.

3. Aleister Black

A more story-driven option is Aleister Black. Before Orton’s heel turn, Black had been shown trying to push him toward embracing his darker side. His character fits perfectly with mind games and psychological influence. Orton saying he has “rediscovered” himself matches that idea. If WWE goes this way, it could add a darker, almost mystical feel to the story.

With Orton set to appear on SmackDown, we might soon find out who was on the other end of that call.
