Samantha Irvin had to deactivate her X/Twitter account after receiving death threats over the recent controversy involving her husband, Ricochet.
Former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin’s husband and current AEW star Ricochet recently found himself at the center of controversy after he insulted a fan with multiple sclerosis (MS). He has been engaging in social media banter with fans and other wrestling personalities, showcasing his on-screen heel persona, ever since joining AEW in 2024.
A large portion of the IWC criticized Ricochet for his actions, saying that he crossed a line with his comment. Some fans also came to his defense, claiming he was only being a heel, and the former AEW National Champion even retweeted some of those posts.

Ricochet later apologized for making the offensive comment and also deleted the post. However, fans continued to criticize him, accusing him of making an “empty apology.” Now, it appears fans have misdirected their anger towards the AEW star’s wife, Samantha Irvin, who had to deactivate her X/Twitter account after receiving death threats over the controversy.
Samantha Irvin shared a screenshot of one of the threats she received on her Instagram story. She often defended Ricochet’s comments and stood by him after he recently claimed WWE tarnished his legacy. However, it doesn’t seem like she said anything about the latest controversy.
F4WOnline.com’s Bryan Alvarez responded to a F4W message board poster who claimed Ricochet was “definitely crossing his fingers behind his back” while making the apology. Alvarez wrote, “If he’s crossing his fingers, it’s hoping he’s still employed by the end of the week.” While many took this as the former National Champion facing disciplinary action from AEW, the promotion has not indicated that this is the case, and the reply was not an official report.
