WWE Star CM Punk Is Proud Of Being Old

CM Punk is proud of being an old man.

Last week, Roman Reigns riled up CM Punk by calling him “old” amidst their promo exchange on WWE Raw. After cooling down, Punk then issued his response on Monday, choosing to embrace his status as “old.”

“Sticks and stones and all of these things are just empty words,” Punk said in the closing segment of this week’s Raw. “But Roman last week did say one thing that pissed me off. Roman called me old. Some of you will understand this. It’s not what he said, it’s who said it. I stand in this ring in front of the world, And I’ll tell you, my young boy does not get to disrespect me and call me old. So let’s get down to it Boston, am I old?

“Here’s the thing. If I told you all here to your face that I wasn’t, you would know that I’m a liar. Am I old? Yeah, yeah, I’m old. Am I ashamed of it? Hell no. Not no. Hell no. In fact, I’m proud of it. If I was ashamed of how old I was, well, I’d be covering up these grey whiskers with Just For Men, just like Roman does. I am proud of who I am, my age, what I’ve done and where I come from.”

As it stands, Punk heads into WrestleMania 42 at age 47. Meanwhile, Reigns is two months out from his 41st birthday. At WrestleMania, Punk and Reigns will collide in the main event, with the former defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Punk’s segment got more heated, as the World Champion took a NSFW shot at Reigns before the OTC and the Usos hit the ring. Reigns attacked Punk and left him laying on the floor, but Punk ultimately got the last laugh on Monday night.
