Ronda Rousey says her appearance at AEW Revolution is a “F*ck you” to TKO.
Ronda Rousey made a surprise appearance at AEW Revolution and confronted Toni Storm after the latter defeated her friend Marina Shafir. Before they could get physical, security intervened and separated both stars. While her shocking debut received mixed reactions from fans, Tony Khan commented on the situation, saying Rousey is always welcome in his company.
Recent reports also noted that despite her surprise debut, Ronda Rousey is not signed to AEW, and that it was a one-off appearance to support Marina Shafir and promote her upcoming MMA return fight against Gina Carano. Now, speaking on her YouTube vlog, which took fans behind the scenes at Revolution, Rousey confirmed that it was the case.
Ronda Rousey says AEW is a less restrictive, adult version of WWE
Speaking further, Ronda Rousey claimed AEW is like an unrestricted, adult version of WWE, and described her appearance as a “F*ck you” to the TKO group, which owns both WWE and UFC.
“This is my first, I think like a full-on AEW show because I only did Ring of Honor before. I think I’ve been at the shows, but never really performed in them. And Ring of Honor was kind of like a pre-taped, that was a smaller crowd, so I’ve never been to an AEW pay-per-view, so I didn’t really know what to expect so much,” Ronda Rousey said.
“But I’m thinking like a less restrictive, more adult version of WWE, which sounds like a good time. Those are all very good descriptions, I felt. And it’s kind of a cool little bit of a ‘F*ck you’ to the TKO group.” Ronda Rousey said.
Despite her fight against Gina Carano on May 16, airing on Netflix, which is WWE’s broadcast partner, Ronda Rousey noted that “it would be easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.”
